Bringing Southern Italian to Southport
CUISINE AND LIBATIONS SPOTLIGHTING ITALYβS LESSER EXPLORED SOUTHERN REGION WITH VPN-CERTIFIED PIZZAS, HANDMADE PASTAS AND AN EXTENSIVE IN-HOUSE CURING PROGRAM
our Story
Southern Italian cuisine coupled with neighborhood charm can be found at Coda di Volpe. The first collaboration between hospitality veterans Billy Lawless (Gage Hospitality Group) and Ryan OβDonnell (Ballyhoo Hospitality), Coda di Volpe (Italian translation of "tail of the fox") is named after the white grape variety that is indigenous to Italy's Campania region.
The menu focuses on the lesser-explored regions of Southern Italy and is comprised of seasonally-evolving handmade pasta dishes and house-cured meats. Using a Stefano Ferrara wood-fire oven, Coda di Volpe crafts traditional VPN-certified Neapolitan pizzas served with authentic pizza shears.
Our Community
Coda di Volpe is a proud member of both the Chicago restaurant community and the tight-knit Southport Corridor neighborhood. Since inception, Coda di Volpe has participated in a variety of civic-focused initiatives in the neighborhood and throughout the city, ranging from off-site events supporting national charities to cooking demonstrations at local farmerβs markets.
